Traveling to Tuscany in June

June is one of the most popular times to travel to Tuscany, and it’s no surprise — Warm weather, clear skies, and vibrant green landscapes make June an ideal travel month. Here’s what you need to know before you travel to Tuscany in June.

Stay off the Beaten Path

June is one of the most popular months for those looking to travel to Tuscany. As such, you’ll want to avoid tourist traps such as Florence. Ditch the long lines and congested public areas and instead try checking out some of Italy’s ancient hilltop towns in the Crete Senesi or Val D’Orcia regions. Filled with rich history, incredible food and wine, and breathtaking views, these towns provide a truly authentic Tuscan travel experience without the crowd. Of course, these places are impossible to access without a vehicle. On our Tuscany tours, guests are dropped off and picked up by a private driver at these otherwise difficult to access locations.

Don’t go it Alone

The first thing you’ll notice when you travel to Tuscany in June is the sheer number of attractions and historic points of interest found in pretty much every city. With such an overwhelming amount of things to do and see it’s easy to miss out on Tuscany's many hidden gems. An experienced guide will help you navigate historic towns with ease and give you an in-depth experience that you couldn’t get on your own. As a bonus, guides allow guests to skip to the front of otherwise long lines at many tourist attractions. On our luxury tours in Italy, guests are joined by local guides with decades of experience.

Enjoy the Sun, but Pack for the Heat

Tuscany in June is full of clear skies and sunny days. Take advantage of the lovely morning weather for outdoor yoga or a sunrise stroll through the countryside. The clear weather and temperate evenings allow us watch the sunset while we enjoy an aperitif outside. Tuscany can get hot in the Summer months, particularly in the afternoon. You’ll want to bring shorts, plenty of sunscreen, and lightweight clothes. Because the afternoons get hot, we carefully design our itineraries with consideration for the weather conditions. In June, we do most of our outdoor activities earlier in the day, leaving time for relaxation by the pool at our private villa in the afternoon!
